It seems that it cannot be helped that a smoker smokes whenever he or she wants as long as he or she can buy it or if someone gave it as a gift or a treat. All the rest can do is to avoid the smoke. Better yet, the smoker should be concerned with the people around especially to those who are not smokers and to those who are allergic to smoke.

Nevertheless, as a smoker, you must go for the best cigar deals so as not to put more money than you can save into it. At least you can save a few bucks!

Regular Job Again?

Been jobless for 3 years now, though I am enjoying the life of a stay at home mom, I still miss the social gatherings and yearly bonuses from a regular job, aside from that, getting the occasional perks given to us for a job well done.

Anyway, I have been thinking of going back to work. I have seen a lot of Quality Coordinator Jobs available but the problem is the time. I don’t like working late at night. Though I am doing it currently with my extra income job online but at least I am at home with my kids. A regular job at night away from home looks tiring and bored.

If I find a job that pays right and even has a great working or flexible time, I might consider but it not, I might as well be contented with what I have now for the meantime.

The Easiest Job

Perhaps the easiest jobs to get into but not entirely the easiest jobs to do are sales jobs. When you go to the mall, a number of people in executive attire will swarm to you trying to sell you something. Sometimes they will give you a flier and tell you that you are qualified to claim a prize from their store. But when you go there, you will have to go through like an hour of sales presentation and they will strongly pressure you to buy. The best thing to do for these kinds of businesses is to firmly say no and go out. They cannot hold you like a prisoner and they will not risk a scandal. Sometimes you can get sympathetic towards these people but in the end, they will take you in and con you of your hard-earned dough.

How Will I Know If I Am An SSDI Eligible?

Let me define SSDI first. It is Social Security Disability Insurance and this is a monthly benefit for the people who have worked in the past but is not able to work anymore due to a disability. But a particular person must have also paid their Social Security Taxes contribution the times they were still able to work.

So am I eligible for an SSDI? According to what I have researched, the only clients who may be able to receive SSDI are the people who have labored with the jobs covered by SS. And another is for the people with medical condition (not just medical condition) because it should meet the Social Security’s criteria of a disability. So if it doesn’t meet the criteria, then you are not qualified.

It is also said that to be a recipient of the insurance, the disability of the client must be severe and that it must last at least a year or would result in death because the SS will not let the client receive anything if the disability will last for half a year only.

We may not want to acquire disability in the future but it is wiser to invest some of our money for an insurance policy. It’s better to be safe than sorry.

To be honest, I prefer silver jewelries than gold. Well, if someone gives me a gold jewelry, I would accept it wholeheartedly but when it comes to buying my own jewelries, I prefer silver.

Speaking about silver and gold, does preferring to buy silver bars as an investment has similar profit margin than buying gold? Or if not, are silver a stable investment just like how gold is marketed to would be investors?

I am asking this because aside from the gold bullions, I am seeing a lot of investment offers for silver bullions and I might say, silver bullions are much cheaper than gold.

Accidents may happen to us unexpectedly that is why some people who are financially capable make sure that most of their valuable belongings are insured. In the US, they get most of their insurances online. They can get life insurance quotes, car insurance quotes, fire insurance quotes, and others insurance quotes just by requesting at insurance company websites. Afterwards, if they like the proposed insurance quotes, they can order and pay for it online.

Anyway, I just wished we have it here in our place too. It would be nice to check insurance quotes online and not be bugged by agents. I just hate it when agents try to shove their proposals down to your throat. They are just making it hard for me to say no. LOL!

Oh well, I just hope someday we will experience the luxury of finding our own insurances online!

Forced Savings Plan

Remember the insurance quotes my land lord’s mother in law presented to me? Well, I was really interested to avail it but since its price does not fit my budget, I had to say no to her. But I have found a better alternative, an affordable forced savings plan that requires me to save 500 pesos for 5 years. If you compute the returns, it is much bigger compared to bank interests. The best thing about it, I can’t withdraw it!!!

Anyway, I have inquired already, hoping the can reply so that I could start saving this June 2010!!

Best Time to Buy a House and Lot

They say that the only benefit we have when there is an economic recession is cheap real estate properties. They say buying a house and lot during recession is the smartest thing to do because they are all sold cheap.

As for me, I really don’t know since I haven’t bought my own house and lot. But what I do know, there are a lot of houses and properties that are sold at this moment like the Outer banks foreclosures.

Anyway, if I have the money just to pay for down payment, I would have gotten myself a house and lot package at any of the subdivision here at our place. One of my dreams in life is to have a house of my own!!

Saved on Freight Expenses

When my father travelled from Manila to Cagayan de Oro, he chooses to ride a passenger vessel that will pass by our city so that he could leave us some packages. So when the day came, we went to the pier to meet him. When he arrived at the pier, he immediately went down to hand as over his packages. After that, he went back to the passenger vessel because he can’t leave his belongings unattended at his deck.

After he left us, we immediately went home and opened the goodies. We were so amazed that he brought a lot of things with him, not to mention he used a plastic cabinet as a container for all of them. Anyway, most of the contents where household things and bed covers. Aside from these things, he included two (2) used golf balls for my children to pay with and some angel figurines.

The experience of getting packages by that manner was quite astonishing. My father was able to save big time from freight expenses. We only paid for the motor cab and the porter to carry the plastic cabinet from the passenger vessel down to the pier which by the way is minimal. Indeed it was a great savings for us!!
